Visit of the Start-Up Nation Israel

Gustav Seeland participates in the logistics delegation trip of the Hamburg Senate and the Schleswig-Holsteiner state government

Hamburg – September 3, 2019 – As a representative of Gustav Seeland GmbH, Johann Evers today travels to Israel with a high-level delegation of around 70 entrepreneurs from logistics, politics and the media. Objectives of the delegation trip: the mutual exchange in the field of technological developments, the promotion of digital innovations for logistics and the improvement of economic cooperation between Northern Germany and Israel. “Israel is a country with state-of-the-art technical and digital structures. I am convinced that we can achieve strong synergies here and get new impulses “, says Johann Evers, Managing Director Gustav Seeland GmbH.

Topics: logistics, transport, traffic and IT

Israel has the second highest density of startups after the Silicon Valley. The 70 participants from Northern Germany will inform themselves about the logistical structures and other areas in Israel. The close practice-oriented cooperation between science and industry is at the foreground of encounters. “Important topics on the information journey will be broadband and mobile phone coverage, the digitization of work processes and applied artificial intelligence,” said Johann Evers, Managing Director Gustav Seeland GmbH.

For the meetings under the direction of the Hamburg Senate and the Schleswig-Hosteinischen provincial government in Greater Tel Aviv 6 days are provided. In addition to visits at The IDF 8200, The Dock, Israel Aerospace Industries and other logistics companies and facilities are focused on personal discussions with local entrepreneurs. The aim of the North German companies is to gather impulse and inspiration for the implementation of their own digital strategies and to inform themselves about the prerequisites. In addition, the program foresees talks for better economic cooperation.

The start-up nation of Israel has developed from an agrarian state to a high-tech stronghold in its more than 70-year existence. The Silicon Wadi around Tel Aviv is considered one of the most successful digital regions in the world. More than 5,000 start-ups and 300 high-tech companies are active there. Goods from this sector account for around 45 percent of Israel’s industrial exports. Its Israeli counterpart to Silicon Valley is home to successful products such as the USB stick, the chat service Viber or the navigation app Waze. An important role of this success story is played by state support. The state supports the start-up scene with special programs. At the same time, Israel leads the world in research and development, accounting for four to five percent of GDP annually. The policy of promoting innovation and the close networking of the state, the economy, the military and civil society play a crucial role in Israel’s success story.

“The fact that Gustav Seeland is part of the delegation shows that our company is on the right track and deals innovatively with the subject of digitization and the associated processes. Traveling to such a technologically advanced country as Israel will certainly give a lot of impetus to heavy cargo logistics, “says Evers.
