Thermologistic Takes Over Frankfurt Road Cargo GmbH

The Frankfurt-based temperature-controlled logistics company invests around 350,000 euros and continues to expand its transportation services

Hamburg – 25.05.2020 – Thermologistic Frankfurt GmbH took over Frankfurt Cargo Road GmbH from bankruptcy. The logistics company is thus continuing its expansion course. With the takeover of the transport service provider, the number of employees increased by 9 additional employees at the Frankfurt location. There are 2 office workers and 7 drivers from Frankfurt Road Cargo. Thermologistic GmbH also takes over 13 megatrailers, 7 tarpaulin trailers and 6 GDP-certified temperature-controlled trailers from the insolvent company. The latter are equipped with the latest telematics and C-log systems.

Managing Director Bernd Schmied sees this step as an important milestone in the expansion of his company. “With the short-term takeover of Frankfurt Road Cargo, we will expand our market position at Frankfurt Airport even more than planned. When merging the two companies, the focus is on ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of existing business relationships.”

The takeover of the customer base opens up new opportunities for Thermologistic GmbH at Frankfurt Airport, especially for the areas of pharmaceutical and engine transport. The newly acquired vehicles perfectly complement the company’s fleet portfolio and are now to be used in Germany and Europe.

Bernd Schmied continues: “With the takeover of the company, we are even broader and can achieve better capacity utilization. In addition, own equipment has the advantage that we have more control over the respective transport services. We are opening up new customer groups and strengthening our market presence.”

With the purchase in the current business year, the refrigerated logistics company expects an additional 1,000 transports. Around 70 percent of this is accounted for by pharmaceutical transports and around 30 percent by engine transports. Thermologistic expects sales to increase by 25 percent in 2020.
