Thermologistic Becomes a Direct Cooperation Partner of Lufthansa

The Frankfurt-based temperature-controlled logistics company is now taking over the fresh-to-door transports in Europe

Frankfurt – 29.06.2020 – As a partner of Lufthansa Cargo, Thermologistic is now responsible for the distribution of perishable air freight throughout Europe. The cooperation between Europe’s leading airline and the Frankfurt-based logistics provider includes the planning and implementation of temperature-cpntrolled transports for fresh food and plants in interurban traffic.

Thermologistic will offer the so-called fresh-to-door service at the Lufthansa destinations in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Munich and Brussels. All orders are managed centrally from the headquarters of the temperature-controlled carrier in Frankfurt. The close proximity to the Perishable Center Frankfurt and the Lufthansa dispatching at Frankfurt Airport together with a 24/7 readiness ensure reliable and, above all, flexible order processing. Thermologistic also guarantees fast onward transport to the respective recipients. This is particularly important when distributing perishable goods.

The goods are generally taken over by the air carrier at the refrigerated logistics centers at the airports and handled there without interrupting the cold chain. The perishable goods such as fruit, vegetables or cut flowers are transported on pallets or special air carriers. So trailers with Roller Bed are used to shorten the loading times at Thermologistic. Compliance with the cargo temperature, which is important for refrigerated transport, is ensured at all times by standardized monitoring management.

Through the cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo, Thermologistic expects annual sales of 2.5 million euros and a transport volume of 20,000 tons. That corresponds to about 3,000 truckloads.

Whether cut flowers from Kenya, meat from Argentina, vegetables from Chile or fruit from Canada – Together with Lufthansa Cargo, Thermologistic ensures safe transport from the producers to the recipients, thus ensuring the supply of fresh products in Europe.
