Liquid CONcept Invests in Heated Intermediate Bulk Containers

Hamburg-Based Liquid Logistics Company Responds to High Demand from the Food Industry

Hamburg – June 28, 2017 – With an investment of €1,000,000, transportation specialist Liquid CONcept is further expanding its portfolio of small containers. As a result, the total number of heated intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) is increasing to 1,150 units. These heated and fully insulated containers boast a volume of 1,000 liters and are used predominantly for the transportation of temperature-controlled foodstuffs such as chocolate, caramel paste and edible oils, but are also used to store liquid products.

The container specifications can be tailored to individual customer requirements. As a result, the company offers its customers a systematic focus on their needs and develops logistics solutions that harness state-of-the-art technology.

“Strong demand for small container-based food transportation necessitates further investment in our fleet,” explains Ulrich Schnoor, Managing Director of Liquid CONcept. “This allows us to further expand our existing operations and handle even greater volumes in conjunction with our customers.”

75 percent of the 185 new containers are already leased to customers. The remaining 25 percent are being kept in reserve, enabling the company to respond quickly and flexibly to customer needs. First and foremost, food producers use the IBCs for the transportation and storage of liquid substances, with the small units also used wherever tank containers or tank trucks cannot be deployed.

The new small containers are being used chiefly by the food-processing industry in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
